cultural heritage event

For Campobassini of all ages, living in italy and around the world
(schedule forthcoming)
before the event
VISIT YOUR VILLAGE MUSEUM

Do you have photos or artifacts that aren't represented in the village collection? What is the history and family connection to these artifacts, and do they contribute to the community's history? What stories are displayed only in your family home or archive, but aren't recorded in the museum or the broader community?

ASK those WHO HAVE LEFT

Are there any family members outside of Italy who practice crafts, such as ceramics, textiles, and ironwork, according to a tradition of Molise and Abruzzo? Are their stories and memories recorded?

Prepare photos and stories

Register to use the pop-up archive studio:

  • bring up to 10 photos to scan on-site for public and private archives

  • share digital archive of photos already scanned by bringing an external hard drive or sharing a cloud link

  • share the story of your family in Campobasso by recording how it was told to you

What is the value of cultural heritage within our communities?

A day to share with each other about our region's identity, local heritage, and history. Is its value only in the past, or is it present? Will younger generations appreciate the cultural heritage of our cities and villages in the future? Is the value different for those who have left or for those who remain?

during the event
show and tell

Are the stories of your family and your artifacts connected to other community members and the history of the town? Are the names of family members present on village monuments? Are some names and stories forgotten?

Reflect on the questions

How can we understand the value of cultural heritage today and in the future?

learn & practice handcraft

Participate in exhibition workshops to make knives, lace, and ceramic tiles, and to draw and document regional artisan projects. Learn the craft of your heritage.

record what is important to you

Use the pop-up digitization booths to record your stories, scan photographs, and browse online archives of the region's cultural heritage.

Don't forget to register early—spaces may fill up quickly!

after the event
participate in co-creation

Should these events be repeated annually? Is there a step forward or a new idea that emerged from the event? Are there other events or museums that already serve this purpose?

connect with eu heritage groups

Other rural resilience and cultural heritage groups are asking many of the same questions. Connect with similar communities across the EU for more ideas and support.
